Leavesdon Country Park Celebration Day
We were honoured to be invited to celebrate play, heritage, wildlife and well being in Leavesdon Countrty Park on Saturday. Three Rivers District Council wanted to gather together all those involved in their ambitious project which was supported by Warner Brothers Studios and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The park has been revamped and now offers a sculpture trail, play areas, and a celebration of the history of the area. We are very proud that our eco building, named The Hive, is central to the delivery of outdoor learning and their conservation project as well as being the base for their park ranger. The building is to be used to promote awareness of both the heritage and wildlife in the area by hosting walks, talks and education workshops from the building, along with housing the necessary resources to support the education programme.
The celebration day was a fantastic event with a host of activities including story telling, yoga in the park and some memory making as well as guided tours of the park and its features.
The sculpture trail features the work of a number of different artists and is well worth a visit when you are in the area.
Our congratulations go to the team for making the project such a huge success and creating a space that will bring education and joy to many future generations.
Here are some of the pieces to look out for.
“We now have a perfect springboard from which to conduct our heritage and wildlife education programme. Lots of people have commented on how lovely the building is.” Lisa Cook Project Development Officer
