This week, from 8th to 14th June is Carers Week: the annual campaign to raise awareness of caring; highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
If you haven’t done so already, dig out your barbecues, evict the creepy crawlies that have taken up residence since you last got grilling and join the many stoic folks who partake in National BBQ Week every year. Actually, you might be lucky with the weather as were we when we defied the poor forecast and decided to persist with our barbeque plans on Sunday: we were amply rewarded with a very pleasant afternoon and a breath-taking sunset.
Spring is advancing at full throttle, with trees bursting into leaf and bluebells carpeting our woodland floors, and the birds are feeling perky and chirpy, particularly at dawn! International Dawn Chorus Day is the worldwide celebration of nature’s daily miracle.
