Eco-Classroom at Pilgrim School

Building type: Classrooms
Project price: ÂŁ36,000
Completion date: 2013

Pilgrim School are enjoying their new learning space, they tell us the benefits of their new eco classroom.

1.       Why did you want to develop an outdoor learning space?

We are in the fortunate position of enjoying a rapidly rising intake and consequently our school was bursting at the seams. We needed more space as quickly as possible but did not have the funds to extend the main school building. Also, as every available space was being utilised, we were keen to avoid the disruption that an extension would have entailed.

2.       What made The Learning Escape stand out from other providers?

We were keen to build a classroom that made the most of its outside location and loved the environmentally friendly materials and methods employed by The Learning Escape. When we looked further into the project we were very pleasantly surprised by how affordable our eco classroom would be: it is exceptionally good value for money.

3.       What are the biggest benefits you’ve noticed for the pupils and your school?

The children and staff that have moved into the new classroom are absolutely delighted by their beautiful and stimulating new learning environment. Everyone that remains in the main building finally have room to breathe and the space to spread their wings! We all love the way our new eco classroom fits into the school grounds – it looks great and has generated a lot of interest in environmental issues.

4.       How did you find working with The Learning Escape overall?

From our first enquiry through to the building process itself, everyone that we have had contact with has been excellent. There was little or no disruption to the daily life of the school while the build took place. The whole project took place seamlessly and, including the final bill, was totally painless.

"Excellent."
