When developing our Escapes, the environment, and how best to look after it, has always been at the forefront of our minds. We pride ourselves in using the latest developments in technology, within our build process, to help reduce our impact on the planet. Our mission is to dramatically improve the normal construction method by creating ecological, healthy and sustainable buildings for you and our future.
At TG Escapes we combine innovative design with the natural beauty of wood and glass. We use traditional materials with sophisticated technology to create an outdoor room with a difference. Our personal and complete service allows us to create the perfect building to suit your individual needs and we can adapt our design to fit your chosen location. This means that we can reduce the build’s impact on your local area.
The materials we use in the construction of our Garden Escapes, Learning Escapes and Commercial Escapes are integral to our eco-friendly credentials.
Our foundations have been designed to reduce impact on the environment by using a minimal amount of concrete in our unique pad-based system.
Our timber comes from sustainable forests. These forests are meeting the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations. This is process that is ensured by practising an environmentally-aware land stewardship ethic.
The glass wool insulation used in our buildings is manufactured from a combination of silica sand and up to 80% recycled post-consumer glass that would otherwise be heading to landfill. This makes it one of the most environmentally sustainable insulation products on the market today.
Additional Eco Options
To make your Escape as environmentally friendly as possible, there are a number of additional features we can add.
A Sedum roof is not only aesthetically pleasing all year round, but also provides a habitat for a rich variety of wildlife. A sedum roof significantly reduces rainwater runoff whilst lowering energy consumption.
Sun pipes capture daylight from the rooftop, through highly reflective tubing, and take it to where it’s needed. The pipes offer brilliant natural light as an alternative to artificial lighting.
We can incorporate wind and solar power into our builds as a clean renewable source of energy.
