Case Study

Garden Studio in Cambridge

Building type: Studios
Project price: £60,000
Completion date: 2014

“Other companies offered specific designs but we liked the versatility of the Garden Escape’s buildings and the fact that ours would be custom built to satisfy all our requirements.”

1.Why did you want to develop a garden room?

We wanted to replace the sheds which were used as little more than dumping grounds and were an eyesore, clearly visible from the house, yet enjoyed a sunny aspect. We still needed somewhere to store the garden tools, but wanted something more from the replacement: somewhere to go at the end of the day and relax in the evening sunshine. So we incorporated a craft room for me and a huge TV for everyone else.

2.What made The Garden Escape stand out from the other providers?

Other companies offered specific designs but we liked the versatility of the Garden Escape’s buildings and the fact that ours would be custom built to satisfy all our requirements. We also liked the way they took care of everything from design and planning permission to getting the last bit of paint on the wall before handing us the keys to a building ready to use.

3.What are the biggest benefits you’ve noticed, both for you and your family?

It’s a large, light room which is so well insulated that even on sunny February days no heating is required and the solar panels generate all the electricity we need. 4 Stars.
