Bullying in schools is a battle for pupils, teacher and parents. We may not have eradicated it completely but schools are campaigning to make a difference. This week, between 19th and 23rd November, is Anti-Bullying Week and schools across the country are working together to raise awareness and help put a stop to bullies.
This week, the attention of the media has once again been turned to Government Funding after the Educational Watchdog, OFSTED, expressed concern that the ‘Pupil Premium’ funding scheme that is designed to support disadvantaged students, is failing to have the desired impact. OFSTED’s snapshot survey of 117 schools across England found that over half of head teachers were struggling to see how the £600 pupil premium awarded for each eligible student is making any difference to the way that they are able to support disadvantaged children owing to the fact that it was bought in to effect just...
To finish off the day at the Eco Schools show there was an Olympic Torch Parade involving Olympic athletes, drummers and of course lots of enthusiastic children.

The sun has come out for us at the Eco Schools Show in Sheffield today. We're here at stand 19 promoting our eco classrooms and this morning we gave a workshop on Outdoor Learning and Environmental Citizenship.
Throughout the day we've been exploring the rest of the stands and finding out what's new and upcoming for eco-schools and making children more environmentally aware.
