Case Study

Eco-classroom at Cambridge University Botanical Gardens

Building type: Classrooms
Project price: £214,000
Completion date: 2015

We have around ten thousand school children a year visiting us, but had no dedicated teaching space to support our schools programme at the Garden. The Learning Escape appealed to us on many levels, from their eco credentials and fixed priced package, through to their extensive experience of designing buildings for school settings.

We had great support and assistance from Andrew Ireland during the two years that it took us to secure the funding for the project and from Karl Stokes while the project was on site. The team who constructed the building on site were helpful and courteous throughout the project. And we now have a dedicated space for use by schools when they visit the Garden which has transformed our capacity to engage with this group of visitors.
