Community Room at Lord Street Nursery School

Building type: Early Years | Multi Purpose
Project price: £78,000
Completion date: 2014

Lord Street Nursery in Derby provides childcare for 2 to 4 year olds.

1.       Why did you want to develop an eco learning space?

We had started taking 2 year olds in our community room which is where we worked with parents and under 2s and was also used for meetings and staff training. As we needed to increase the provision of care for 2 year olds, we urgently needed to create a new space for our family work and staff.

2.       What made The Learning Escape stand out from other providers?

Initially, we were drawn to the attractive appearance of the buildings and the quality of the design. When we met with the team we were delighted to discover that we could satisfy all our needs within our allotted budget and within our limited time frame.

3.       What are the biggest benefits you’ve noticed for the pupils and your school?

We have a beautiful, multi-purpose room which has just blended into our environment. Parents and families love coming into this space which has also provide a lovely office and working environment for our staff. It is also a great place for meetings and training and our parents find it a particularly calming space.

4.       How did you find working with The Learning Escape overall?

The whole team were very approachable and very quick to respond to any concerns. The whole experience was excellent. 5 stars.

“We have a beautiful, multi-purpose room which has just blended into our environment.”
